Served blind, very aromatic notes of cassis, smoke, loaded with vanilla. Medium body, very long finish and a silky textured. Very balanced and well made. Will hold at least a decade, no rush but the wine is in a fantastic window presently. Hard to resist.

Opened teo bottles with leg of lamb. Excellent match. Second bottle not finished and even better next day. Smooth cab nicely balanced fruit cassis, coffee mocha flavors. Might have even been even 94 points the second day. Can go a few More years. Well worth the $49 i paid for them

A terrific Cab. Essence of mocha, coffee, mint, pencil shavings and pepper. Layers of dried figs, chocolate, coffee, blueberries and peppercorns. We had this wine in our cellar for almost ten years. This is the last of the 2007's and it's been worth waiting for the Wolf Family Cabernet Sauvignon.

Apparently I enjoyed a previous bottle more than this. This wine is good and without faults but I found it too ripe and alcoholic to be anymore than good. Lovers of full bodied Cabs will enjoy this.

I can imagine lovers of big California cabs might be disappointed in this but I am not. Balanced with exquisite texture and the right amount of ripe red fruit. The hints of earth really brought this together.

Very good cab, drinking well in its 10th year.

Similar to previous notes though perhaps better still. Rich, slightly savory coffee tones. There is an unusual array of herbal and subtle spice notes that bring more complexity. There's also a sweetness that makes the wine quite apealing.

Showing so much better now than the last one I had a few years ago. Glad I have one more left. Deep, penetrating dark fruit and coffee tones. A lot of weight. A slight graininess. Sumptuous. 93+

Decanted for 1 hour. Nose of cassis, black cherry, olives, and mixed spice. Really nice. Exceptional balance of fruit, tannins, acidity, and alcohol. Black fruit on the palate. Medium finish. Drinking nicely now but can also go the distance.

Quite disappointing, at least at this stage. Upon first opening, it shows almost nothing on the nose. We gave it a couple of hours before trying it, hoping for some change, but it stayed pretty blah. Slightly sour/vegetal quality dominates, with a little minerality and very little sense of fruit. Tannins are present but they are not the problem. The wine just seems inert. I'll update on Day 2 if any change.

I must refrain from a score, as drinking this wine after an O'Shaughnessy Mt. Veeder and then, a Buccella Mica, wasn't exactly "fair"! The only negative was the slightest sense of some pedestrian-fruitiness to the back end of the aromatics; but only for the first 10mins. or so. True to it's style (more so, Karen Culler's...and women wine makers, in general), this wine was "pretty" - soft, smooth & and nicely integrated; if not a little simple. On the plus …

Novoino's 4th annual portfolio tasting (Park Hyatt Hotel, Chicago IL) : nose: plush and open nose of dark red fruits, spice tones, red and black currants, black cherries and some oak tones taste: medium/full bodied with chewy tannins that are very noticeable and medium acidity with tones of dark red fruits, red currants, black cherries and oak tones overall: good depth on both the nose and palate. Well balanced but showing young on the palate. This could use a few …

Somewhat disappointed here. I was hoping I'd find a nice inexpensive Cab that was easily available nearby. I think the label is simple but stands out. Dark garnet color. Nose is very tight with just a hint of black pepper. Mouthfeel is fairly light. Not much pop here. It's hard to tell if this is even a cab. Some heat with lots of pepper. Dark fruit but not not very complex. Normally this sells for 5.99 but I got it …
