My family and I had this and several other Bollingers at a home tasting. Not as bubbly, as expected, but still excellent taste. Complex and acidic. My favorite of them, recommended!

Very generous champagne, a touch too much brioche and pastry for my taste.

Scent of light almonds, honeysuckle, light greenish and yellow nature. Taste of green apples, pears. On the finish taste of apple peel. The bouqette is still a little undeveloped, but im sure it can be really much better in the long run of coming years. A fresh, semi crisp and little dry wine. Still very young, can be saved for many years to come! Points 91 (93)

Popped and poured for NYE 2023 --> 2024. No formal notes, but this was classic Bollinger: deep gold in color, with notes of biscuit, bruised apples, and pears, all coupled with a crisp mouthfeel and finish. Very nice. I’m sure a lot of the price of this wine is for the packaging, but there’s still a quality product inside. Cheers to an interesting 2024!

Some aldehyde to the nose, bread baking next door. Not in my house. Creamed hazelnut aromas. Orange juice, not zest. Palate is dynamite with loads of freshness. Has some little chewy extract on the palate.

Had this in my cellar for a long time. Opened at a family dinner. Golden yellow, still some acidity and sparkle. Very enjoyable.

71" b-day party : PnP. Nice and smooth drinking but not different from typical Bollinger. Great for party

On the cusp! Still good with seafood platter, thank god for food. Otherwise by itself no good. Had slight acid up front, big chardy aged mouthfeel & gave a little in the throat. Drink now!

Marked smokiness on the nose, which we rather enjoyed. Would pair very well with food (although I have to admit that we had no problem quaffing it all by itself). Aromas: smoke, red apple, lemon, wet stones, bread dough, hints of forest strawberry and charred wood Flavors: brioche, pear, quince, lemon, lemon zest, smoke, vanilla, hints of chalk and salt

At Elmar's house towards the end of a relaxed afternoon with families. The champagne was light gold in colour and offered stone fruit, tobacco, biscuit, smoke and flint on the nose and palate, with creamy mousse, a great, creamy mouthfeel and incredible length of the flinty finish. The full- to medium-plus bodied champagne was incredibly balanced, with a smooth, lovely, intriguing texture. Great champagne! Thank you, Elmar!

A Bollinger textbook: booming, vinous and acidic. Really needs time to suffocate. On the nose aromas of wheat and tangerines predominate. Elegant PN but still without that civilised punch that we all expect. On the palate I am left with that refined wine texture before with the exacerbated acidity that drills the gums. Super refreshing right now but the best is yet to come. I couldn't find the evil. Shared with family. Un Bollinger de libro: pujante, vinoso y ácido. …

Rich and dense aromas of brown sugar, apple cobbler, baked apple. Long, wide and creamy in texture. Shows the richness of the vintage. Wonderful bottle.

Apple pie, poached pear, warm brioche. Crisp finish. Maybe a little coriander. Pretty fantastic!

This wine has everything, fruit, acid, balance, complexity, fine bubbles, drinks easily, lots of flavor, drank with Peking duck, would drink again but pricey.

Utterly wonderful! Not extremely house-typical, lacking somewhat in the bready finish that I ususally find in Bollinger wines, but still a marvellous champagne.

Elegant, quite crisp, lemon zest, nuts and bread notes. Not as oxidative as other Grand Annees I tried. Nice bottle for 007 enthusiasts. I would not spend the extra money and just go with the regular bottling of the 2002 GA.

Blind. Lang. 91-92p

Bollinger 1953-2009 : Fresh, appley nose, creamy texture. Young and lively, gastronomic. Very good raw materials, will age well. On this evening to me it wasn't as interesting as some older bottles.

Bollinger 1953-2009 : This was a regular GA 2002 with a special label and a fancy box. Green apple, hints of dried apple and apple compote, lightly buttered toast, quite fresh and creamy. Excellent showing but I preferred R.D. to the regular GA this time.

We believe its the same wine as the "normal" 2002 vintage of Bollinger Grande Annee just the bottling is different. Definitely a bit of added wow factor here. Apparently the case (empty ) has some collector value already in Ebay. The wine is pretty solid as one would expect, round, ripe and great definition that comes from the special vintage that 2002 was. It is actually on the young side and will age gracefully for a few more years. 92-93

More expansive than the Taittinger 2004 of the same evening. Apple, orange, and even a touch of pineapple to go with the toasty finish. Very different styles, both wonderful champagne.

Plenty of yeast and nut action on the nose. Full an creamy in the mouth with good depth of flavour and crisp minerally acidity punctuating the long finish.

2007 California Cabernets (Casa de Cove) : This was really good. Straw yellow, hints of brioche, warm nuts, great depth. This was an expansive champagne with great acidity and fuzzy bubbles. Packaging was cool and enjoyed with hackleback cavier and regular accompaniments.

extreme and amazing intensity. I love the Grande Anne, and I think the 2002 is a wonderful wine. This showed well, with decades of life left. More than Daniel Craig has as 007, I'm fairly certain. THe packaging isn't worth the extra dough, but in the spirit of an undercover agent who doesn't sweat the cost of anything, the wine champions swashbuckling heroics well. Don't shake or stir.

Biscuit, mushroom, hazelnut. My number one 2002 champagne to drink at the moment. Dom Perignon and Cristal will eventually be better but not today.
