sappy, rich, good fruit density, vosne spice, very much emphasizes the pretty and inviting fruit. VOTN

Nose of black fruits, black tea with lots of spices. On the palate, for me, this is the epitome of a good Vosne: silky juice on a background of black fruits generously sprinkled with spices. There's also black tea. It's quite masculine with an acidity that adds a nice tension. A beautiful finish, silky and spicy with good length. Very good Vosne!

Wines in France; 4/10/2025-4/20/2025 : At Le Millésime. Expressive and wild nose of strawberries and spice. Lovely silky texture but a little rustic.

Brought to dinner at restaurant Bresca in DC. Evolved dramatically during the dinner, from acidity to a lovely fruit (not decanted).

Rich and ripe with darkish red fruit. To me, this is more 2018 than 2015. It had opened up in the glass with time. I suspect it will enter its drinking window in 2-3 years.

Rich red fruit as typical of the year with Vosne spice. Red berry and black tea on the palate. There's impressive acidity to balance the ripeness. Just entering its drinking window. Good stuff.

Rob's birthday (Lake Forest) : Drank out of a magnum. The freshness of fruit on this wine is striking. The nose is all red fruits and spices, floral. On the palate it's silky, well together and balanced, with fresh fruit notes and long. Remarkable.

Emmanuel Rouget Vosne-Romanee 2015. Helt åpen nå. Nydelig parfyme - litt Cathiard/Rousseau ish. Mye spice, mørke bringebær, treverk og svakt candy shop. Flott krydret frukt på smak. Ganske mye struktur her. God konsentrasjon med bra friskhet. Bra sexy greier det her. Deilig nå - vil bli enda bedre. Fast lang finish med fine tanniner. Pent bitt. Meget flott Village. 92p+

Ah, the juice. Rich, creamy, approachable and sexy. Almost too easy to drink. #FormelB#JN&PW

Notable wood imprint here, but this may very well be able to handle it. Impressive fruit for the level.

2015 Vosne-Romanée AC blind (Chicago, IL) : Served single blind in a flight of 2015 Vosne-Romanée AC. Reduced and muted on the nose, though it's almost certain this is a big wine. Muted on the palate as well, only showing some acid and alcohol. There was some debate as to whether this was corked -- the consensus originally was no, but after a few hours (and the reveal and the following shock), some wet dishrag started to show up.

2015 Vosne-Romanée Village Blind Tasting (Chicago, IL) : Single blind. Muted and neutered throughout. No overt TCA, but this is mildly but certainly corked.

Opened 2 hrs before drinking. nose: herbs, sesame oak, spice Palate: quite tight, alcoholic, cherry fruit with a bit tannic finishing. 06 character? A harsh showing. Quite disappointed for this wine....it's 09 NSG was however much better.

A tasting with Emmanuel Rouget (Flagey-Echézeaux) : Emblematic Rouget, with a decadent bouquet of creamy raspberry and spice; supple, ripe but fresh, framed by fine but firm tannins, some of them surely barrel derived. Pure pleasure.

Fantastic clean and open nose, still primary but a real pleaser. On the palate it is slightly muted with the acidity leading. The finish is clean and medium long.

more red fruit and spice this time around. The sweet spot was 30min after opening and then began to decline, shorten after 2 hrs. Nice villages.

Wife's birthday at Otto Ristorante. Dark red, almost still purplish and inky. Rather muted nose, but with time, some spice, leather, forest floor and wood. High acid, some tannins but a rather disturbing bitter finish. There seemed to be a lack of intensity of fruit to counter the acid, wood and oak although I did detect red cherries, grapefruit, and raisins. Finish was rather one dimensional, and I would really expect that extra bit of uniqueness from an Emmanuel Rouget …

Bright red fruit with a touch of sous bois. Nicely balanced wine. Subdued tannin as well as acid here. For me the best village Vosne wine made. Nice length and mouthfeel.

Youthful in appearance. For the first hour it was extremely closed and slightly musty on the nose. After two hours revealed slight red and black fruit with a touch of spice. Still old wood in the background. Closed on the palate with only glimpses of fruit. 1er cru in depth, but not giving up much tonight.

The Gilded Man (Aalborg, Denmark) : Rouget has brought me much joy of late - the location wins, even though the style is quite modern and thick and dense. Much to young, the real pinot nerve is still to show

On the nose a fine blend of cacao, red, and black cherries, Vosne spices and fine soil tones. On the palate the wine is pure, medium-bodied with sappy fruit, On the mid-palate ripe, suave tannins and very complex with outstanding focus on a long refined finish. This is a very fine Vosne Village! It's really enjoyable now even though there seems to be some time ahead.

Fantastc wine. Straight from bottle the nose was captivating with sweet notes a la 2007 but with a colder underlying fruit. Spices, some reductive notes and lovely mature red fruit on the nose. On the palate, it is medium body, with a lovely balance and mouthwatering acidity. Ready now but will become more complex with a few more years. A real pleaser.

Tasted blind, this wine displayed a red/purple center with reddish rims. The medium intensity nose of black cherries, raspberries, pepper, and soil was interesting. In the mouth it showed very ripe fruit in the attack but had a firm, dry finish. This still needs a lot of time and my score should improve by a point or two. This seemed like it will be of premier cru quality.

Medium red color with purple tint, clear at the age. Classic Vosne nose jumps from the glass - crushed black cherries, Asian spices, and some floral notes. Excellent balance and structure. Tastes like your biting into an exotic cherry pie. While classified as a "village wine", definitely premier cru in quality. My last bottle from a mixed case of regular bottles and magnums. Delicious, but the '90 vintage still remains my favorite for Rouget / Jayer (both the Nuits-St-Georges & …

This was fantastic and the big time burgundy collector who let me taste it said he thought it was still tight and had probably 10 years before he thought it would really show it's stuff. I was surprised at how meaty it was on the nose, but the acidity was like a laser straight down the center of my tongue. I'm not going to rate this out of respect.

Baked dark cherry nose with sweet baking spice, violets, and wet stone. Sappy red cherry and berry on the palate with excellent length and texture for a village wine. Great minerality throughout with some grip to the finish.
