Decanted for sediment, in a small decanter PNP but got better within 30 Min. Very similar to last TN with dark fruit mostly black with some red, a little more secondary developments with tobacco & coco notes a hint of plums on the full but not overpowering body. Really nice integration, everything in place on this plush wine with medium to long finish. I suspect it has reached a plateau but no danger of fading in the next few years. …

We had this following a Malescot 2003 margaux which made the difference stand out but this was definitely not not a new world fruit bomb. Intense, dark with good structure and a fairly long finish this kept evolving and opening over several hours. There is a lot of extraction and the wine seems to be in a place where secondary flavors are present but still has plenty to offer in the future. I will probably wait a few year for …

Another Saturday at Chevalier...Mostly Blind (Chevalier Fine Wines - Chicago IL) : Tasted double blind. Easily identified as New World Bordeaux blend, and I didn't think it Cab Sauv based. Dense, chewy black fruit with a slightly sweet character. I somewhat enjoyed this wine, others liked it a lot more.

Excellent wine although perhaps starting to show its age, as the fruit has faded but still dark and fairly intense. Not a blockbuster but pleasant to drink as winter comes on.

Impressive character of oak, leather and fruit. Nicely made although the finish could have been a bit longer. Drink now-2020

Popped and poured. Last bottle and was in fine shape. Good wine with dark fruit, concentrated, and a nice long finish but I would be drinking now. B+/A-

Have had bottle variation here due to some bad corks but this was fine and reasonable. B+/A-

The second of four bottles. Like the first, this had a dry cork that crumbled when I opened it. These were purchased at retail about 6 years ago and have been properly stored. In both cases the wine was drinkable but totally uninspiring. I have yet to find a Malbec that did anything for me.

quite tasty...still vibrant fruit but no heat and clearly new world and hard to place given personal lack of experience with Malbec...really very nice

WOTN for the group. 3 hour decant. A bit reticent on the nose. Rich ripe fruits layered onto a chocolate ganache. Light tannins on the finish. I don't drink much malbec, so I 'm not sure whether this was a "typical" example. Regardless, a real eye opener, and an example that there's more to drink with steak than Cabernet.

Truly a sensational Malbec with incredible complexity, silky black fruit and great concentration.

Impressive and delicious. Super smooth, silky tannins, dark boysenberry and blackberries, floral notes, graphite, chocolate, and creamy oak (though too much IMO). All very well integrated too. If not for the heavy oak, would score higher. I'd have guessed new world Bordeaux or expensive Cali blend rather than malbec, though in hindsight it lacked the currant thing. Suprisingly gentle acidity for a younger malbec. A go-to wine if you want to impress.

Popped and poured. Very nice malbec with mild tannins balanced with acidity. Not terribly complex but with a very long pleasant finish. Vacuum corked over night in the frig, wow tannins are absent, acidity not as noticable, but the fruit is real apparent. Finish continues very long as well.

Lots of dark chocolate, licorice and roasted coffee grounds....blueberry with some raspberry trying to push as well. Lots of oak (chocolate and toasted vanilla bean). Very rich wine. It's enjoyable and delicious, though seems more like a high-end Cali Cab, lacking the Malbec typicity of, say, an Achaval Ferrer...

This was popped and poured. Very dark purple, but I don't recall the nose. The palate was surprisingly restrained and structured vs the fruit bomb I expected. This really took some time to open. This had a lot of dark fruts and reminded me almost of a more conservative Cali cab

South American Wines (Rios de Sudamerica) : Full nose is plush with loads of chocolaty dark fruit, minty and herbs. Palate is richly fruited and round. Plenty of spice and toast add flavor complexity. Still showing primary flavors. Great potential. 92+

Louisville, KY Offline (Bourbon's Bistro, Louisville, KY) : WIML92-93 Tasted March 17, 2008. Opened and served immediately. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Big fruit aromas and flavors of currants, plums, berries and some cocoa. Good acidity, tannins and medium to full body. Well balanced. One of the better Malbecs I've ever tasted. Drink over the short to medium term after a short decant.

Similar to the last bottle I had two years ago, this wine really didn't come together until the day after I opened it. But when it began to show well, it was phenomenal. I probably won't touch another bottle for several years.

Amazing! Far better than I expected. This was an incredible deep-colored purple/black with dark fruits, dark berries and a hint of mocha as a topping. nice 15-20 second finish. Round in the mouth. Very approachable now!
