Shannon Ridge Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Ovis

Black currant, cherry, and a bit of cedar on the nose. Those and minerals on the palette. Grippy, but not overwhelming tannins. Modest acidity. Could age more, but I’m downing this with a NY Strip and it’s glorious. Really nice wine.

Needs more time. Very tannin-forward and overly drying. Would try again with a high-fat protein pair, like a ribeye. But too drying for me as-is.

Purchased at Costco Kahului Maui $38 Medium body, cherry, tobacco, grip on finish. However it is pretty monotone and gets boring after a glass.still a good choice given the options.

Considering the Wine Spies price was <$30, this is a pretty great wine.

Nice big Napa cab. More tannins than most, but they dont get in the way. Lots of dark fruit - plums, cassis, blueberries - and some cedar / woody notes. Yum!
