Vin Chicago Holiday Wine & Champagne Tasting (Makray GC, Barrington) : Another cuvée I've not had in some time. Rich and doughy, with red apple and cashew elements as well. Good acidity. Excellent. 91+ pts.

Duft av friske grønne epler med et hint av surdeig og nøtter. Nydelig frisk og syrlig med en herlig crisp. Presis og elegant med flott mineralitet og en dash sitrus på smak. Frisk og lang ettersmak. Meget prisverd Champagne med lang lagringspotensiale. (92)

Very nice, fresh and crisp. Drank it after a mountain trip at Sunnmøre (stored in cellar) Everyone in the company liked it (Not very often that happends with my picky family mwmbers). Very good value for the money. Looking forward to the next bottles 😊

Golden yellow colour with slow streams of very fine bubbles and a mature nose showing ripe red apple sauce with a hint of raisins and minerals in a very nice and seductive way. Smoothing lime citrus acidity with a zesty bitterness on the lengthy finish. Perfect stage right now, and should keep for some more years for sure! (Best 2010-2030)

1995 vintage

Rik, brioche, bakt sitron, lang, fyldig.

Clean nose of apples and pears. Creamy, soft texture on the palate, fine, reserved perlage, more a creamy mousse than actual bubbles, a bit toast and brioche but more about the fresh fruit. Lemon joins the fruit on the long finish. A balanced, integrated effort. A lot to like here. 17+/20

2012 vintage

Nice spritz, distinctive champagne nose though no particular Bouzy terroir shining through. Taste, however, somewhat a letdown with metallic acidity covered by a touch of sugar. To the level giving more a 10g/L quick fix maturation than its actual 5g/L. Ok grower wine at its price point, but one bottle was enough.

(Disgorged in early 1990s, 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Chardonnay) Golden yellow colour with small streams of very fine bubbles slowly rising in the glass leading way for the lovely mature nose showing candied lemons, raspberries and some cream in a delicious way. Pleasant palate showing drying fruit combined when a lemon juicy acidity showing on the mid to late and a refreshing finish with some lime zest bitterness keeping everything together very well. Plukka feil i kjelleren, hadde egentlig planer om lillebroren. Sitrus og ung ost på nesen. Tydelig smak av sitron god frukt, nesten fyldig. Intens syre. Vokser med luft, parfymert lukt av røde epler. Konsentrert lys og solid. 1 dag i flaske: solid sitrus som i går, kanskje noe fyldigere.

2009 vintage

Vinet har över tid fått en ganska snipig surhet vilket gör att jag korrigerar betyg efter det. Fortfarande härlig krydda och mineralitet i denna hyggligt "krävande" champagne. Jag kan inte avgöra om det tunnlar och det väntar ett nytt vackert liv senare. Låter kvarvarande flaskor ligga. Bra helhet.

Väldigt olik den vanliga vintage 2007 från producenten, har inte den snipiga syran. Detta är en mer komplext kryddig och frukttät champagne. Hade jag provat blint hade jag sannolikt gissat på Ay snarare än Bouzy, Den är i alla händelser helt underbar och dricks utan problem nu.

Another fine bottle from this producer. Not overly marked by the 2007 vintage in Champagne (that I tend not to be very fond off), but much more nuanced and fresh expression. Good Pinot fruit on the nose, with berries and bread. Palate with somewhat low acidity, but still holds together well with structure and ripe fine fruits. Blind I was in Aÿ, not Bouzy. An overall good Champagne, especially for the vintage.
