Bodkin Sauvignon Blanc Musqué Clone Sandy Bend Vineyard

Drank over multiple nights. Rich, weighty expression with aged citrus, herb, mineral notes. Balanced acidity that kept the palate from being overbearing. Stayed interesting over each night.

Notes after 2 days open. Medium yellow color now. Still has the profound, tropical, sexy, dirty bouquet with a little mature nutty-ness setting in. Medium weight, with generous acidity, and I think it can sail for another 2-3 years at this altitude. One of the most unique expressions of SB I've had, and I like it. 5+12+17+9= 91

Continues to shine. This is great stuff

Second bottle and this time I followed it right from the pop (unscrew). Again, I love the distinction and uniqueness here. More earthy than before, to the point of feeling just the slightest bit tannic. Proper acidity and blind, I might not guess Sauv Blanc but I would say it's more like an obscure Italian varietal, or even a French SB-Semillon blend would seem to be a more accurate description. Delicious, possessing a bright palate and a longer than average …

Notes made on 3rd day open. Medium yellow straw color with a clear shine and no particulates. Profound aroma of white peach, kumquat, kiwi, and a bit of cut grass and thyme. Luscious flavor with a big spine of acidity and a complex, long finish. This is no Loire, nor Marlborough, or even typical Napa, but I really like that it is so different and still deliciously high quality, to boot. I feel like $20 was a steal for this …

Blech. Overripe, overextracted, with no SB character. Thick and viscous and gloopy and somewhat sweet.
