Decanted for around 30 minutes. Medium garnet color with some bricking around the edges. Aromas of amarena cherry, balsamic, cedar cigar box, roasted plum, sweet baking spice on the nose. Very pretty. Similar flavors on the palate with great concentration of cherry and plum fruit along with notes of cedar, balsamic and dried cherry. The texture and finish on this wine was really quite good. Medium+ acidity with silky tannins and a long finish. Excellent barolo with plenty of life …

More fruit forward (raspberry) and significant dill than I recall in my last note. But texture is still light and a dance in the mouth.. dark power on a light frame.

Drank out of magnum; decant but tasted at opening. Feels like a really good bottle. Fresh right from start; young alive slightly tightly wound but fresh red fruit and minerality. 3 hour decant: beautiful nose of plum, eucalyptus, wet tobacco, red currant, hint of anise; great acidity and backbone; well balanced with 30 second plus finish.

Modest dark fruit and and a long dark chocolate/cigar finish.

Hail the dark master, what a manly wine; tough, dry, immensely concentrated, tarm, cherries tobacco. Extremely young, extremely good as well. #Anarki#Peter&Jesper

Oddero Nebbiolo (Dig Wines, San Francisco) : Lightest color of the bunch-tawny. Incredibly explosive aromatics with the entire array of fully expressed Nebbiolo-roses, licorice, and tar. Light, especially for a 2010. High acidity, fine and detailed, moderate back end tannins, overall somewhat slight. While the aromatics are exciting and advanced, it does not really deliver as much in the mouth. I wonder about its future.

{Visit to Oddero} A rare (and welcome) opportunity to click on the 'Love it!' button, but alas - for now we have only the "I like it" button. A rather singular nose, one that speaks directly to the heart while softly stroking the mind, too. A touch of EtOH peaks out from behind the aromas of apple and cherry skin, while darker cherries mingle with truffle, pine and forest floor. A distinctive entry, too, this is big, weighty, serious, and …
