Not surprisingly, fruit has diminished substantially, and has been replaced primarily with sweet tobacco and spice in the nose. High glycerin mouth continues to be opulent, but has become a bit more tempered than I recall. Still good structure on the finish. Perfect red to pair with rich soft medium aged cheeses at the end of a meal.

See notes from Oct -15. Nose is now blackberries rather than cherries. Acidity and tannins unchanged, but fruit is now receding, leading to a drier and more alcoholic aftertaste. Still very good, but time to drink up!

Inledningen med mycket grenache är nästan lite lik svartvinbärssaft. Därefter följer ett helt annat smakspektra med jord, kol, peppar, solmogna körsbär, tobak och en relativt tanninrik eftersmak. Jag uppskattar verkligen detta vin, även om det inte är lika fylligt och överrumplande som 2003 års årgång.

Red/black colour, fairly high density. Nose large, full of cherries (both fresh and dried), crushed rock, walnuts, touch of cough drops. Acidity rather high, tannins sandy, still prominent cherry fruit, whiff of bitter almonds. Long aftertaste. The 15% alcohol is not intruding. Probably at its peak now, but will last (say) five more years. Very good for a "standard Priorat"!!

Tobacco and leather, then some herbs and spices. Dark fruit. Prunes. Hints of figs. Agree with other reviews that this is fairly tart, which does not help the finish

- Flavours of apple and black currant - Don't know if it over the hill but it seemed very tart for a 9 year old bottle. It wasn't oxidized and had decent dark fruit favors but just tart if I could describe it best.

This is one terrific bottle of wine. Unfortunately it is my last one. Blackberries, plums, black current in the nose and in your mouth. Rich and lingering flavors. Lovely.

Very powerful fruit filled nose, with medicine tones, cough mixture and green herbs, and a touch of tobacco. Soft almost dissolved tannins, with dark, sweet red fruit, plums and some cassis. No disturbing signs of the high alcohol level, surprisingly. (15,5% abv). Quite balanced with a good blend of grapes. Nice Spanish Priorat, with excellent qpr. Will keep developing and maybe gain in complexity, as these wines often has shown to do.

This wine is dominated by dark fruit like plums and ripe cherries. There is also a lot of spice flavors. It may not be a traditional priorat but still a really good wine. Drink now or save for another 2 years.

This is truly excellent, perhaps even outstanding. Yes, this is new world-y and fruit-forward (as i expected) but not at all unbalaced or over-the-top. The cepage is interesting (grenache/cab/syrah) and each varietal really brought something to the party. Very harmonious with great spice box flavors and a persistent finish. Really surprised by this wine and happy to have 2 more in the cellar. Viva priorato!

Deep ryby colour. Nose of red berries at first, deepens with air, and out comes mocca, tobacco and meat. Taste is quite rich with high avid and marked tannins. The grenache dominates this wine, giving it a clear red berrie touch. However, not as rick as you would expect a Priorat to be. Good wine, but not typical of it´s origin.

One of the few '04 Priorat wines under $20 available. Poured through vinturi and dedanted in glass for 45 minutes. Blueberry, vanilla, and tobacco on the nose. Similar palate. If blind tasted, I would have guessed Syrah. Very tasty, but I think there is too much Syrah in the blend to give this a sense of place. Drink now.

Yes, over the top with 15.5% alcohol. But this becomes an asset if served late in the meal or tasting sequence. The wine has enough fruit to support this, and does not come across as hot in the right context. Blueberry and tobacco nose, rich mid palate, and a long finish that contains a bit of alcoholic burn.

Popped and poured. Still deep and rich in color- just a slight clarity. I get a lot of blueberry and mineral on this wine- both on the bouquet and on the palate. A little cassis on the bouquet as well. Pure open fruit on the palate with that rocky minerality. Secondary floral and herb notes- maybe a little black pepper. Medium body with flashes of silk and tea in the feel. Open tannins- opulent but balanced overall. Juicy finish- full …
