Robert Biale Syrah Hill Climber

Very good. New Years Eve dinner of pork w/ fruit stuffing.

A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark purple in color. A full bodied SGM, with blackberry, currants, coffee and chocolate on spiced long finish. www.winelx.com

Very good with roasted pork dinner. Bridge group dinner.

Very rich and concentrated, but not as spicy as I think of a Rhone. The Mourvedre seemed to "sweeten" the Syrah but the Grenache is a little lost. Nevertheless, the wine is ready to drink and opens quickly with a host of flavors. Very rich, like syrup. Had this with the Italian dish Spaghetti alla puttanesca, and the wine complemented the anchovies, olives and capers.

This is another great blend from Biale -- the Syrah, GM instead of the normal GSM gives it a very nice balance. It is very smooth, yet spicy and was great over two nights

Balanced with a long finish.

A little muted early on but could tell had really nice balance and structure, as the night went on really opened and blossomed into a great wine. One where at the end I wanted another glass.
