Eric Kent Wine Cellars Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

Very special cool-climate chardonnay from a Sebastapol vineyard. Rich straw color. Smells of ripe pear and honey give you to flavors of pear, vanilla, and a touch of lemon. The oak is so well integrated that you get the richness without any oaky flavor, just a honey/vanilla persistence from the aromas through the finish. A huge wine (15.5% alc/vol) kept in balance with impressive structure. Best chardonnay I've ever had at this price, complex and well-made.

Anita: Very strong oaky nose; pretty concetnrated, intense, but the oak was overbearing. Wa sit b/c it was too much for the food? or just over the top? Still, well made, w/good quality grapes.
