Prior bottle was nearly a year ago and the wine continues to show well. Black cherry, earth, spices and light leather notes on the nose. Just above medium bodied with the same mix of rounded black cherry and slightly brighter black cherry continuing to work well together. Mid-body came together a bit more quickly this time (around two hours) and continues to show good depth, defined black cherry and a darker plum note behind. Prior bottle was almost exactly 2.5 years ago and the wine remains in a very good spot. Black cherry, earth, spices, floral qualities and a lite tar note on the very pretty nose. Nearly full bodied with a fruit expression that remains vibrant, full of depth and ultimately, quite beautiful. This was an outstanding wine from the nose.to the pallet and the long finish. Gave it a 15 min decant then drank over about 3 hours. Red fruits and blueberries on the nose with a little spice. Great mouthfeel with fine tannins on the back. Fairly complex and kept getting better with more and more air. One of the best brunellos I have ever had. Italy vacation Part 1; 10/22/2017-11/5/2017 (Florence and the Tuscan countryside) : Medium ruby; nose is moderately aromatic, deep fruit; palate is medium bodied, medium acidity, tannins still present but mostly integrated, red fruit at maturity; medium finish. Lovely, but I actually love the 2012 Stella Di Campalto Rosso just before this better for its elegance and aromatics. 88 With air, some lovely licorice on the nose. Excellent.

Super beau Barolo, il commence à entrer dans sa fenêtre et pourra se bonnifer encore pas mal au cours des années. Après un gros 4 heures de carafe, ça chante! Super beau nez sur les roses, la terre, les cerises et les épices. En bouche, belle concentration et fougue. Le fruit est précis et croquant. Du cassis, des mures et de l'anis avec de beaux tannins charnus. La finale est hyper longue et riche. EXCELLENT et pour plusieurs années.

Stunningly beautiful brunello. Redfruit, floral and spice notes on the nose. A bit above medium bodied, but with a richness, depth and intensity that points to its Riserva status. Still quite young, but given about two hours open, it starts to revel what an incredible upwards trajectory it's going to have over the next few years.
