Tasting Notes: Earthy, vegetal, blackberry, plum, currant, cherry, red fruit, leather, spice, and oak Characteristics: Medium bodied, medium plus acidity, fruity yet earthy, not very smooth, kind of clumsy and off balance

Didn't have a decanter handy and this needed it. It did open up in the glass over 1.5 hours as we drank. Big, bold red. Tons of tannis and dark fruit. Was almost chewy at first, but subdued as we went on. Hints of spice and mushrooms. This wine needs a hearty meal or at least a dark chocolate. Drinking it straight as we did wasn't the best show, but it was quite enjoyable nonetheless.
