Cantina Giardino Irpinia Chianzano

Not my jam. Texturally murky with lots of suspended sediment. Sour orange, caramel and salt. Heavy like a red wine.

Underwhelmed. Felt like it tried to punch above its weight class and failed. Some good salinity and sour orange bit off kilter acetic notes and a really flat affect. Sub par orange wine in the end.

Combo of ⅓ Greco and ⅔ Coda di Volpe. 6 days on skins, 18 months in old chestnut casks. I've loved many Giardino wines, and this is far from a fail -- but in the end the acetobacter sort of rides roughshod over the whole, turning it into pickled peaches.
