Domaine Y. Clerget, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru

Small glass, brief note. Once again, incredibly impressive for both its youthful charm And exuberance, as well as its depth of black fruit and balancing/ elongating structure. Good young, great potential.

La Paulée New York Grand Tasting of 2022 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York) : Light ruby core. Stemmy and green. Medium weight. Limestone core, dark blueberry fruit, strong whole cluster signature, substantial but not face scrunching tannins, and a light citric lift. Lots of wine here but totally locked up now. Give it 15+ years. A nice range of more forward wines and those that need to be forgotten for a long while.

La Paulée NYC Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty) : Light body, whole cluster sticking out a bit today. Needs time. The 19 we had yesterday was better at this point in time.

Pommard & Volnay tout en nuances - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Palais des Congrès - Beaune) : Walkaround tasting with producers. Bottled one month ago. Charming and elegant floral start with clove, allspice, and black pepper supporting the ripe red and black cherry. Grand Cru density on palate with silky tannins. I hope Thibaud did another cuvee in the glass wineglobe in 2022 so we can create our own Chicago cuvee again in this vintage.
