With a couple hours of decanting , this had stunning aromatics of dark morello cherries, toasted oak and hints of thyme. Palate is a little corse but still seductive with replays of cherries and some chocolate. Long long cherry finish. Wish I consumed my first bottle with 10 years of age on it.

Very nice and powerful on the nose with cherry and tobacco. Powerful but beginning to get ballanced. god complexity and after and hour quit pleasant in the mouth. Might be something more to come.

Donker robijnrood. Erg fraai.

Too young to drink now. Dark and brooding with black cherry, plum and oak and vanilla influences. This is a full-bodied wine and a bit of a bruiser. Lots of sediment already thrown in the bottle. Good acidity in the palate. Mix between Mourvedre and Syrah. Traditional style. Long finish. Re-visit in 5 years or more.

Stinky stink on the nose, which I like. A little watery on the initial taste. Then some nice black fruit and even some minerality. Some years to go.

Visit to La Clape (Narbonne, Languedoc); 7/7/2009-7/9/2009 : Tasted at the chai before purchasing. Very expressive nose of rounded blackberry and plums. Powerful palate, lots of black fruits and tannins, long finish. Very nice. Should be a winner in a few years.

First impression is one of new oak, new world. Closes down in the decanter initially and then opens up again to rich, sweet, black and red fruit, spices, smoky and seductive, oak completely absorbed; good weight, juicy, lovely acidity but the tannins are rather potent and slightly drying; excellent length. Will be interesting to see how this develops.

Mixed blindtasting : Dark red color with a purple rim. Intense aromas of roasted coffee dominate the nose, which also has notes of prunes, black currant and earth. Similar notes over the palate, black fruit, dark chocolate, black sweet licorice and some black earth. Very good length, with great nuances going from first in the mouth to midpalate and finish. Ending with a lot of roasted oak impressions. Very young, needing time for the oak to integrate more with the …

La Manche Wine Circle - Languedoc Roussillon II (Le Rouge Palu) : 12.25/20 Parker 81/100 (c=85%) D Garrick 5.90 € Leclerc Sombre red body with young ruby rim. Pleasant ‘tingly’ impression on the nose with cherry sweets fruit and a touch of cedar. A happy wine reminiscent of a good Southern Rhone. Green stemmy aspect not unpleasant. Juicy fruit on a round palate with a hint of white pepper and a good finish. Developing well and should improve further. Very …
