Pétrus night at Meyerise. Drank in Spiegelau Bordeaux Definition. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fresh dark mint, dark redcurrant, blackberry, black cherry, fresh dark earth. Developed. On the palate dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flvours of fresh dark mint, blackberry, black cherry, dark redcurrant, fresh earth. Long spicy finish. Fresh. Straightforward. Probably won't get much better with more age, though …

Nice black cherry flavor. Very ripe fruit with well-integrated tannin. Good steak wine. Held up for a week in refrigerator.

Really really good right now, in a sweet spot, still showing fruit but also plenty of secondary characteristics too. Great value.

Opaque deep inky color, fruit such as cassis on the nose along with hint of cinnamon, full-bodied wine, right fruit on the palate and finish. An enjoyable wine to drink now

Dark - black at core - clean if restrained aromas of dark chocolate and carbon with a streak of blue and blackberries. Velvety tannins and tame acids yield luxurious palate feel.

Absolutely fine, but nothing sparkling. A gentle, sweet cherry on nose and palate, but perhaps without the fleshy richness I was hoping for. I've got one more bottle of this left and will try it soon.

Very positive surprise: nose with full fruit, berries, black current. On palate full with well integrated tannins, a bit resinous. Smooth finish.

This is not a bad wine, its just that its very Merlot for me. Its still quite bright, well built in its sturdy structure of tannin and acidity. I like the sturdiness and the tight body of the wine and the distinct scents of black raspberry scream merlot or ju ju fruit. I drink with one particular fellow wino who is an older guy and a merlot hater and while I have gone toe to toe with him about his …

Very smoky, with a rustic leaning, yet there was a lot of charm here in the remaining vestiges of bright, crisp, floral oriented, red plums. For a wine of this age, not so bad.

A meh...Ok wine. I always put faith into young bottles of Bordeaux, but shit, after 12 years already, this wine is a slow operator. Full of acidity, very vibrant, fresh, hints of earth, but mostly crunchy red fruit in a medium body. Easy drinking, not the best QPR out there. This one is here to stay but its another science project taking up precious cellar space. IDK...Drink?

soft velvety and still some fruit. Very nice tasting. I let it breathe for a few hours which helped it open up by the time we tasted

Dark purple. Full bodied Merlot overwhelms the Cab Sav and whatever else is in the effort. Medium long very nice finish but no complexity in the flavors. Fruit forward. Not sure this gets any better in fact i bet it doesn't. The weaker vintage is evident here but the flavors from the barrels don't come through readily. A nice wine but not a great one.

Not very Bordeaux, but more like a California wine in a cool and cloudy year. To me its not as good as it was, so now we have to wait a long 5 years or so to get some development. Its definitely a long life wine...Very youthful and full of tannins and acidity. HOLD

VinoLaprisco Tasting (Restaurant De Karpendonkse Hoeve *, Eindhoven, Netherlands) : Wonderful sweet fruit, polished style, smoky, hint of vanilla, clean, modern but with lovely minerality, perfect tannic grip, bears the Thienpont / Derenoncourt imprint but not as profound as the Larcis-Ducasse 2006 or (in particular) the Pavie Macquin 2006; good length.

2 hour decant; this one's totally shut down and all I get is the tannic feeling in my mouth. Withholding a score on this one; I wouldn't touch this for another 3+ years I think.

Vinturied into a decanter for a couple of hours. Dark ruby-esque in colour. A concentrated nose of creamy bright red fruits with hints of cherry pie and Belgian rock candy. Getting sweet dried red cherries, black peppers, and some hints of raspberries on the palate; nice medium dry finish. I am not getting any green profile from what a few reviewers noted though.

Everything is relative. Drank this last year by itself and went…Ehhh… Drank last night next to a great young rioja, and said: nice! Very approachable now, displaying St. Emillion character in a fruity, new world way. Large amount of extract for an under achieving vintage. Rather sweet, with a long, DRY, peppery finish. I felt like I had made a mistake on buying 12 of these, but now I think I got a bargain and will start enjoying them over …

Not my style for sure. I do not like green notes/green bell pepper in my wine. The greenness overpowered everything else for me. Unless you like green notes take a pass on this wine. However I see from another review that maybe after 5 years...

Muted leather, tobacco, white pepper mixed with blackberries, pomegranate, and some mushroom, and juniper on the end of the palate. Great acidity and balance. A bit of astringency shows the wine has good life ahead of it.

The wine has some spiciness and creamy candy in the bouquet. Same on the palate. Round and friendly on the palate, but also some sticky tannin with hints of green bell peppers. Next try in 2016 if I had a bottle. 87+ for now.

I was told this was an off vintage but it was still very elegant and insightful. Had essence of bright red fruit with cinnamon, leather, and more earth tones. It was pretty but no a lot of depth. I paid $17 but was told it was like a $50 bottle. I would drink it again but wouldn't pay $50.

Early Dec 2011: deep purple red color; very restrained: dust, later slightly vanilla and red berries; full body; plenty of tannins. Served too young, still very restrained. Wait another 3-5 years.

Early Dec 2011: deep purple red color; intense vanilla and cherry aroma/flavors; red berries on the palate; harsh tannins. Still very young. With some potential to gain a higher score in the next 4-7 years.

Round and creamy (exactly what I wrote down without knowing about my previous note.), but also firm and a bit green (paprika). A bit controversial. Easy wine one way, but the green impressions might mean this wine should be kept for another 5 - 6+ years. Not sure.

Creamy round and juicy wine. Very easy going. No harsh tannin. Everything is very supple. Certainly an ok wine, but a bit too easy going imo. Not a good qpr.
