Medium dark red violet color; savory, red currant, dried tomato, green olive nose; savory, red currant, dried tomato, pimento palate with balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot; 14.2% alcohol; 21 months in American oak)

With a mix of fruit from the Texas High Plains and Hill Country, the best of both AVAs comes alive in this reserve Cabernet. This wine also includes just a bit of Cabernet Franc and Tannat in this French aged oak jewel. Black cherries and leather are on the nose followed by some white pepper. WIML90 Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of soapstone, black pepper, melted black licorice and a hint of caramelized brown sugar. Flavors of black raspberries, black berries and black cherries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannin, full bodied. Drink or hold.

Green and unimpressive on night one. Open with a nice nose on night three.
