Livio Voghera Barbera d'Alba Riserva

Found this in the cellar no idea where it came from. Dark and medium bodied with good fruit but even more generous amount of wood which could have been scaled back a little IMO. A nice bottle and ok purchase based on CT pricing data. Im guessing it was probably more integrated then at it's youth considering the age.

Good (only) wine. Annoying sour note marred the overall balance - fruit and acid of this wine. The half we put aside for another day was better -- the sourness was gone, and there was a not-unpleasant bitterness in its place. Overall, it's a decent bottle,, but not up to the hype that the retailer laid on us!

Seems to be in a dumb phase. We sense that there is a lot more that can emerge over time. We'll wait for 1-2 years before trying the next bottle. Tonight, it was a good accompaniment to a chicken-sausage-broccoli rabe dinner, especially after some initial harshness in the nose blew off. A good, but not great wine at the moment. We'll see how it develops.

Still solid. Good nose and body. Lost some freshness on the second day.

I think this is a great wine. A bit rustic, which is perfect for a northern italian dinner. Smooth, blended well. Tonight we had this with a simple tomato (heirloom), garlic, and oil over pasta dinner. The wine was slightly too rough. Not clear how this will develop, if at all. My partner thought that it was fading without developing at the end of the evening.

Delicious wine. Perfect compliment to Italian dinner.

Balanced, strong barnyard nose. Delightful although somewhat divisive. Strong likes and dislikes among our dinner group.
