Lyrarakis, Kotsifali, Crete

Pretty interesting wine that grew on me over time. Hard to compare it to more common styles. Color is fairly transparent like a PN or Nebbiolo, nose is fairly perfumed with mostly dried red fruit, slightlt smoky raspberry preserves or dried cranberry, and the palate is about the same, sort of soft red fruit with decent acidic energy, certainly not acid driven but with just enough to give life to the otherwise soft and rounded profile. Reductive initially with some medicinal notes, red and mostly dark fruit, with dried herbs in the background. Light to medium bodied, balancing acidity and shortish finish.
