A little bit of development but still showing quite young. Cherries, bay leaf, dry herbs. Good, classic Sangiovese.

My last bottle of this delicious wine ! Excellent on night one, very good on night two, but faded by night three, so I think that you should drink up. I doubt that this will make it to AG's drinking window of 2030 except for bottles coming straight from the property. Consistent with the year, it's a lush wine with prominent dark fruit, decent acidity, and a lovely balance. There are also lovely aromas of leather, wood and herbs. This …

Great upon opening, with nice ripe red an black fruits with a slight sweet touch. After 2 hours of air, the fruit recedes and the taste focuses more on mocca and coffee notes. However, the remaining 1/3 camped in the fridge overnight and was still going strong the dat after. Drink up, this is at peak

How I wish I had bought two cases of this instead of only six bottles ! This wine (L1111) continues to improve in the cellar and should be great though 2032. Decanted two hours, it's a great expression of Sangiovese as a food wine with balance, smoothness, and good structure, tannin and acid. It is very savory, with some complexity of dark spices and tobacco, and a sweet cherry finish with a lingering mineral and cherry pit aftertaste. At $25 …

Wow. More than three years since my previous bottle, this wine (L1111) has evolved beautifully ! Despite being decanted three hours before dinner, it was even better on night two. It is a sappy, mouth-watering wine with a great acid and tannin structure, a medium++ body, great balance, some mid-palate sweetness, and a savory finish. It's a classic food wine, not for cocktails. I don't think it has entered its peak drinking window yet, so this is probably a wine …

PnP. Solid offering at Bar La Grassa in Minneapolis. We’ll paired with the bolognese and rabbit ragu. Bright and consistent from first sip through medium finish.

Peculiar nose of cat urine initially, but don’t be mistaken, this was wonderful. Nice legs. Burdock root, mustard greens, and granite. Caramel and mushroom finish. Very drinkable right now, but should be even better in a few years.

PnP. Still good freshness, and a welcome crispness to the red fruits. By the second glass it starts to unwind, with good forest, tobacco and soil notes. Medium-bodied, plenty of cool acidity. Solid+ example of the variety in this vintage. Now and the next 5+ years at this level; could well improve. Easily recommended http://www.italianwine.blog

Firm fruit - Cherry/Strawberry with spicy Black Pepper. Well balanced with firm chewy Tannins. Medium finish of Cherry/Raspberry and All Spice with a touch of Leather. A lot of wine for the price - a Winner that paired well wit Eggplant Parmigiano.

Nice wine and order again is good. It’s like a Chianti but a little nicer...

A decent Vino Nobile with much more rustic notes. Heavy cherry (almost rotted with sweet lingering (chewing on a cherry pit) like flavor. Well made and richer than the other two tonight.

Classic red wild berry and cherry fruit on the nose and palate, with the typical Italian acidity and rustic notes. This wine remains smooth though, with integrated tannins that really smoothed out over a couple hours. As with most Italian wines, drink this with food. Recommend.

Firm tannins. Med plus acidity. Ripe raspberry, more red fruits than black fruits. Long finish. Don’t be in a hurry to drink this. It has several more years of aging potential.

Tasting, brief note. Plenty of ripe plum with good dollops of earth and tobacco. Firm yet elegant tannins help provide structural support, making this more interesting and enjoyable. Very good now with upside.

Weekly tasting group RWP #346; Some random wines (@ JdB) : Complex bouquet with a lot of herbs and spices. On the palate juicy red berries, sweet spices, beautiful acidity and mild tannin. A juicy and delicious wine.

Juicy ripe plum and blackberry, earthy leather, dried herbs. Tannins give it a nice backbone. It's straightforward and very tasty. $20 at Total Wine is a good price for a Vino Nobile. 93 from WS and Vinous, 92 from WE. Maybe it has a little room to improve?
