Deep ruby with hint of purple hue. Strong blackberry, blackcherry, liquorice, tar, ink, charred wood, nutneg. Full body, surprisingly refreshing (given its high altitute), lots of grippy tannins. Great overall balance and concentration. You could taste the old vine Malbec and Andes typicity here. Great QPR too.

Son's wedding reception at The Rectory Hotel, Crudwell, Wiltshire. 48 bottles consumed by the c.110 revellers. Full ripe dark hedge fruit with a dash liquorice and spice. Integrated assertive tannins and good dry finish. Perfect with the wine braised beef cheeks (and the Wedding "cake" pork pie). Just on its plateau and should be good for three or so years at this level. Excellent.

Wow - what a wonderful classic example of Malbec. Decanted 10 to 15 minutes. Inky dark purple in color with dark sweet alluring fruit on the aroma. Full-bodied with great structure and extremely well balanced from beginning to end. Dominated by lush dark fruit (blackberry and plum). Tannins are supple and really soften nicely with a little time in glass. Paired well with slow cooked herbed leg of lamb.
