Must have bought more of this than I thought as I found this bottle while crawling around the bottom of the cellar. PnP. Perfect cork. Medium light ruby. Lovely aromatics of sous bois, Vosne spice and a hint of lavender. Light weight on the palate but superb balance of spice and red fruits - cherry and plum perhaps. Long on the finish which is dominated by spice. Time to drink as I think this may be at peak or a …

open. just shortly before beginning of consumption. everything about this wine is elegant, from the beginning nose with hints of sous bois and the color of transparent rose. while the fruit is playing second fiddle its the tension and balance that send this soaring. Perfect timing. Just a great wine now.

think i just missed the peak - fruit is fading quick, some secondary notes taking over - acidity remains nice but this wasn't the same experience as earlier bottles

This is superb. Juicy dynamic with a lot going on. Lots of red fruit, a touch of herbs. A touch of secondary development and earth, but this is still very primary. Classy. No let down from nose to finish. Acidity is terrific. Serious but so much to enjoy.

Must have missed this extra bottle in the cellar. PnP. Cork wet about half way up. Light red with slight browning. Shy but classic nose of spices, sandalwood, aromatic herbs. Medium weight on the palate with lovely texture and a reticence in the finish which may dissipate with more air, or it may be beginning to dry out. Very nice with simple grilled halibut and raddichio with belgian endive. Good QPR for Vosne.

PnP. Translucent red; initially: airy nose hinting at spice and herbs. On the palate middle-weight red fruits with some tightness/tannins/drying on the finish. Will see how this develops with air given some of the comments. The nose on this improves quite markedly with air; however, the finish becomes more intrusive with drying tannins. Drink up. Stored corked over night room T; this has markedly improved with the tannins integrating nicely into a more intense red fruit profile. Perhaps needed more …

On opening (admittedly without giving enough time to acclimatize from cellar temperature), this was hugely disappointing - no nose, high acid, and no finish. After a 3 hour decant and consumption over another 2-3 hours, it transformed into a great wine. Nose of soft spices (cinnamon, etc.) with a comparably smooth palate. Medium body and density with smooth tanins, but what really impressed was the delicateness and complexity of the spice component. On the second day, the wine had mellowed, …

Color is soft garnet with just a touch of cloudiness. The nose hints at complexity, but doesn't reveal a lot. Herbs and red berries mix freely with whiffs of truffle and forest floor. The taste is exactly as advertised by the nose, but with the fungal elements dominating the fruit and plenty of tannins and structure to sustain it. While interesting now, I think this wine is just beginning to integrate and its best days are well ahead.

Popped and poured. Brilliant medium ruby. Rather closed on the nose. On the palate, mid-weight, very clean with a goes down like water quality. None of the aromatics others have described and rather simple though nice; not worth the QPR. There didn't appear to be anything "off" with this.

Initially a lot of Vosne spice on the nose. In the mouth medium-weight with quite some tannin. The balance doesn’t seem to be quite as fine as I would hope for and this is a bit rugged to my taste. The nose reminded me a bit of that “mini-Richebourg”-character and it was certainly the best part of this wine. Otherwise it just didn’t suit my palate that well and I’m happy to leave these for those other people who seem …

Rich and delicious, with great length, purity and pinot fruit. There's a lot going on here. Raspberries, floral notes, earthiness and minerals. It is accessible, but also refined. Not thin and acidic. Needs some air time to open it up. A really fine under-$75 burg.

2006 Burgundy Test Drive : This is so silky and finely knit that it seems practically to instill a sense of peace and calm as you take a sip. Such a classic example of Petits Monts in its laciness but what really completes the package is the fullness of the flesh underneath; it almost seems to billow with material without coloring at all outside the lines. This easily upstaged the Gaudichots today.

90+ Fragrant nose, warm brownish red colour. Ripe red with some black fruit. Well balanced. Some tannin, but delicious now after breathing.
