Ruby color. Cherries, raspberries and blackberries with hints of floral, leather and earthiness in the nose. Blackberries, plums,, mocha and licorice in the flavor. Nice structure, well balanced, nice complexity and acidity, full bodied and a long finish.

Still bold and big with loooong finish. Quite amazing and indicative of why CdP (and Barolos) are built for long term cellaring.

Fairly light red. Ripe roasted black fruit, combined with some really nice earthiness. Rich, warm high alc. flavours and a rich but dry finish. Not as ripe, hot and sweet as 07 Donjon but what is? One glass was enough.

A gorgeous glass of wine. A perfect CdP coloring. Smooth, nice body and just a gorgeously fruity mouthful. I doubt that it's going to get any better, so it's now in the "Drink Up" window, but we have a few years left before decline.

Had with a lamb tagine course at the Chaine Charlotte NC chapter World Chaine Day dinner at Restaurant Boca in Hickory NC and dish was also simultaneously accompanied by an '03 Vall Lach Embruix priorat in a grenache shoot out - as good as this wine is the Spaniard clearly won by a bit. Highly recommend, a very good QPR wine at this point and fully mature but in no way past prime - drink or hold for a few …

Light ruby in appearance- considerably lighter than a bottle drunk about 8 or 9 months ago. Fully mature and pronounced nose of candied raspberry, kirsch, vanilla, spice and liquorice. Full bodied on the plate with medium tannin and still plenty of acidity- which is appreciated in a 14 year old or so CDP. The flavor persistence is impressive and the finish is long. Very well done with no sign of being tired, but who really knows with Grenache, so I …

PNP and paired with smoked pork shoulder (aka Boston Butt). Dark red color (looked younger than expected). Herbal, dried raspberry, black cherry, black tea and pipe tobacco. On palate, similar flavor profile to nose. Integrated tannins, medium+ acidity, medium+ body and long finish. Beautiful fruit. Has aged very well but agree with prior taster to drink in next 12-24 months. 93+

Another casualty as month 8 of the lockdown continues to decimate my cellar... Nice medium ruby appearance. Some lightening, but not as much as expected in a CDP that has spent 12 years or so in the bottle. The nose is obviously mature, but in no way tired or cooked. Lots of dusty raspberry, cherry flavors (not quite kirsch), vanilla, spice and liquorice. Full bodied on the plate with medium tannin and just enough acidity to hold things together. The …

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate The 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape's dense ruby/purple color is followed by a bouquet of charcoal, framboise, black raspberries, and a hint of spring flowers. It is a rich, full-bodied, concentrated effort with silky tannins and good acidity. Enjoy it over the next 12-15 years. This continues to be the top estate in the Jerome Quiot portfolio. These wines are made in a quasi-modern style with gorgeous levels of fruit as well as superb purity, but the …

Nose showed stewed fruit and rustic elements along with a noticeable “hot” alcohol presence. Palette was mostly dark red fruit, stewed fruits, brown sugar, and some alcohol heat. Finish was black cherry and spice, fairly short overall and slightly dry. Overall, disappointing, probably should have drunk a few years ago.

I have had poor luck with '07 CDP's - not this bottle. PNP. Great savory nose & palate. Tobacco, dried raspberry, red currants - the Burgundian side of CDP. Medium body, high acidity, integrated tannins and very long finish. Flavor profile on palate similar to nose - more complexity than my limited notes suggest. 94+/- I loved this - this has aged very well.

superbe bouteille.

I have been drinking through a coravin and then an aerator. The wine is better than the bottle I tried a few weeks ago but is an average bottle of wine. Fruit on the nose, the palate was berry, cherry and leather. Perhaps too much leather as the flavors were all muted. The finish was average. Probably a few years past its prime.

Cork broke on extraction - the nose was beautiful, ripe fruit and spices. That was all. The palate started with fruit which somehow transformed into nasty. The finish was oxidized. Two sips and we poured the bottle out and went to a backup.

Medium ruby appearance with plenty of legs. Pronounced and evolved aromas of red fruit (bright cherry, strawberry, framboise) , cedar and spice. Full bodied with a mouth coating feel. Medium tannins and fairly low acidity. Lots of gorgeous cherry liqueur, spice and vanilla on the palate. This wine is holding nothing back at this point! The finish is long. Lighter from aging at the edge but opaque in the center of the pour. An inviting nose of raspberry and blackberry. Rolls very smoothly into the mouth, with ample tannin and acidity that are well integrated and rounded. Excellent concentration with a long and dry finish. Aging well and gracefully, with no signs of premature oxidation. Fully drinkable now and any time in the next 3 years.

PNP - dark red color. On nose, earth, dirt, plum, black raspberry, lavender & dark dried cherry. Similar palate with great palate feel (glycerin). Medium+ body, medium+ acidity & long finish - great balance. Excellent - has aged well & fruit is very nice but wine starting to show much more tertiary characteristics. My wife & in-laws all really enjoyed. 93+/-

93-94 range. Lots of bottle variation in notes below but mine to date have all been good. PNP mystery wine and paired with grilled lamb loin chops. My favorite wine out of an '04 Aldo Conterno Barolo and a traditional style '05 Rioja Reserva (Pecina). Didn't take notes but from memory, a very balanced wine with cherry / tart cherry / raspberry / tobacco combined with earthiness and subtle herbal notes (consistent on nose & palate). A really wonderful CDP, in a wonderful drinking window right now. Round and well balanced, the grenache fruit dominates on this wine but proves well structured, displaying excellent balance between acidity and tannins. Medium finish, big alcohol on the nose, but not hot in the least on the finish. Red fruits, tobacco, leather coming through on the palate. Fantastic wine.

This needed about an hour to open. A bit tannic, but with time a nice mixture of sweet and savory notes emerged from this wine. Nice acidity with bbq, herbs, blackberry, and vanilla notes. Good complexity for the price. Drink after a 1-2 hour decant or hold.

Hooked up to a nitrogen canister and followed for two days. Floral nose of violets and plums, some spice/pepper, and a hint of licorice. While the wines depth is somewhat lacking, the red fruit/cherry and plum flavors are solid but don't linger long. Fine for short-term drinking, this was my last bottle and a solid value at $30.

89-90 pts

This was an excellent surprise. As Lana noted, this has a wonderfully floral nose. Roses and violets and some licorice. Elegant along the lines of Charvin. The body was good but doesn't quite match the nose. First off, it's a tad soft. Plus it is ripe enough you can tell it's a 2003. Still, the wine overall was quite good. Darker fruits like plum on the palate. Balanced, except for being a tad soft, as I noted, and a nice …

This wine is now hitting its prime drinking window, showing deeper and better integrated flavors of gamey red fruit, earth, and herbs. This wine had the structure to match the ripeness of the vintage and should show well for 5+ years. Maybe on the edge of sweet mulch or barnyard for some.

Sampled from a 1.5 ML….. Very deep red. Muted nose, black cherries, touch of leather. This wine was very one-dimensional. Dull, as though the fruit had already died and left little residue other than tannin. Dry finish. Lacking in personality. There was nothing here that I found very appealing. I wasn't so sure that this would be a Rhone to age, and think there's a lot better French Rhone out there. The second night the wine was flat!
