Pop and pour into a decanter. The cork was soft and started breaking up with a regular corkscrew, but the Durand saved the day (yet again). In the glass, still a relatively youthful ruby red at the core, but the first tinge of auburn is visible at the rim. On the nose, pure RRV cut by an appealing note of barnyard funk. On the palate, the tannins are completely resolved, leaving a pleasurable mix of dark cherry and rhubarb bolstered …

Slightly lower toned vs McDougall 2007 from last week, this has rich red fruits, Earth hints and elegant tannins. Good weight, better length with a sneaky, persistent finish that is the real highlight.

Tasted blind. Light garnet color to a clear rim. Very floral nose - Lillies? Quite dense darker fruits - fresh plum. Lots of spice and a touch of bitterness. All the parts come together quite nicely and this feels complete at the moment but no signs of fading. Guessed California - maybe Rhys Family Farm? A nice showing and superior to the McDougall tasted blind in the same flight.

Tasted blind as a part of an '07 Cali Pinot horizontal. Randomly in the same flight at the '07 Kutch McDougal, and this showed better. Nice sweet black cherries, florals and spice. Well balanced with good depth and layers. 91-93 point range.

Elegant and translucent; pomegranate and earth on nose gives way to tea leaves and cola/root beer on palate; fading fruit (and wine disintegrated after 5 hours in decanter), but lovely until then; body and texture are exquisite

Ruby red center with slight bricking at the rim. Lovely nose of cherry mixed with floral notes and earth. The palate is a refined blend of earth, cherry, raspberry, and horseradish. Medium-bodied with solid acidity. The finish has good length with clean fruit and earthy notes. Overall, Jamie did a great job with this wine, capturing the fruit of the Sonoma Coast while providing earthy and herbal notes.

Full generous nose of black cherry, rhubarb and spice. Intense bright fruit and racy acidity on the palate. Fruit is still quite concentrated and plush but so well matched with acid structure, which provides lift and freshness. Still has a youthful exuberance.

Decided to check on this three years after my first taste - I was left wanting. Not showing much structure or beauty; kind of tired. Drinkable; easily comes across as PN but more off-vintage village Burgundy than SC. Drink up. Served non-blind.

First weekend drank very well. Vacu-vin sealed and put into refrigerater until following weekend. Warmed up and drank. Wine was disjointed and many of the flavors of first weekend were missing. DRINK UP NOW! This evolution after opening does not bode well for improvement with much more age.

Very nice! Plenty of red fruits and plums. Nose and flavor profile reminds me of a Santa Rita Hills Pinot. In a blind tasting I might have been fooled and would not have guessed Sonoma Coast. Wine is drinking very well right now.

I thought this wine was quite enjoyable for an "entry-level" blend. It needed a little air to open but it showed intriguing black cherry with nice meaty and smoky tones. Nice flavor and intensity considering it is "only" 13.2% alc. A really nice pinot from Jamie.

Not as enjoyable as two prior bottles. On the nose, smoky black cherry, pomegranite, orange rind/citrus and baking space. Tarter flavor profile, with cranberry and pomegranite, and notes of cola and limestone. Finishs a bit hot.

A bit darker than a bottle of 18 months ago. Aromas of pomegranate, black cherry, orange peel, baking spice and loamy earth waft from the glass. On the palate, spicy black cherry, orange rind, and mulled Christmas spices. Very nice.
