Not at all too old. Needed at least 30m of decant time.

I'm surprised to see the low scores and reviews on this wine because I found it to be of solid structure and fitting the classic profile of well made Barolo. Plenty of dark plums, rose petals, tobacco, leather and a dry spice, lingering finish which I always love from Nebbiolo grapes. For $40, this is an excellent value and it exceeded my expectations.

Jammy aroma. Soft tannins with raisinated flavour. Decant one hour before serving.

Everything you want Barolo to be. Aged to elegant perfection. Complex, but not complicated. Seductive, but never cloying. Irresistible.

Decanted through a strainer and drink over the next two hours. There was a slight amount of sediment. Old-world reddish-brown, but light in color and body for a Barolo. A pleasant enough taste, but nothing very exciting. Not bad for the price.

Does not suit my tastes - oak, oak, oak. A shame to do this to a delicate yet concentrated grape like nebbiolo.

I had very low expectations for this wine given the fact I got it from wine.com for a song. It was better then I expected despite being as weak as others have suggested. This medium bodied wine has a darker hue then I expected and carrries the traditional front palate flavors but doesn't have the depth to finish. I would use this wine to introduce a novice to this variental to avoid wasting a good bottle.

Somewhat weak Barolo, as expected a Barolo for less than $30 is sub-par.

Maverick Wine Co.'s Grand Tour 2011 (OneSixtyBlue, Chicago IL) : nose: pretty and aromatic with lovely tones of red fruits, berries, strawberries and roasted herb tones. Good tones, but lacking depth taste: elegant and feminine medium body with medium+ acidity with nice tones of red fruits, strawberries, and roasted herbs. The tannins are there, but aren't that rough for a young barolo overall: this is nice, but lacking the depth that you want from a barolo. Good complexity on both …

This barely edged the 2006 Produttori Barbaresco for wine of the night. Very nice perfume that jumped out of the glass and a lot of elegance on the palate define this wine. This is not a concentrated big barolo, so everyone expecting a powerful tannic wine will be disappointed. Light red fruits and flowers dominate the palate. Very feminine and soft. Nice length and good complexity. I really enjoyed it. I think this should be drunk in the next 3-5 …
