La Cadalora Traminer Aromatico Vallagarina IGT

Light straw Very very aromatic nose. One guest commented it was sweet, but of course you can't smell sugar. However it was intense fruit on the nose, with a caramely honeydew sort of aroma. Very pleasing indeed. On the palate it became immediately apparent it is a dry wine, which I tried hard to impress upon my guest. This is unique. It smells and tastes like Gewürztraminer, but sharper, more acidic, and more pungent. There is a lot of it too, quite concentrated. I can't say it's enjoyable to sip, but it is interesting. The taste profile is medicinal or reminiscent of industrial cleaning solution...maybe both. Food helps tone this element down considerably. Overall, this wine should be consumed with a meal. No real flaws...just a swift kick in the pants.
