Louis Latour Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Chaillots

Dark colour with some bricking but going towards purple/black rather than orange/rust. Nose is muted with hints of leather that faded. Similar on the palate plus dried cranberries and a bit of rosemary�s which linger. The first memorable burgundy I had (Cathay 1st class around 2000) but this one is not going stay with me.

Decanted for a bit before serving. Intense sun-ripened tomato on the nose that needed to blow off before I could really pick up anything else. Palate is more balanced, with red fruit and a nice bit of earthiness. Still has a decent amount of zippy acidity.

A library release for them. Tasty, but also a little bit vapid on the palate. But again, that is probably me having a bad tasting day.

From a half bottle. Initially very closed. With more than one hour of airing started to come around. Subtle funk on the nose. Light bodied, smooth with silky tannins, delivering subtle red berries with hints of funky notes. Elegant but not so complex.

Warm red-fruited nose with some added barnyard complexity on the nose leads to vivid strawberries and red cherries on the palate. Fine tannins and fresh acidity rounds of a satisfyingly long finish. Very good.
