Richer and riper than I was expecting. Earthy cherries and mushroom on the nose and rich, medium bodied palate. Not complex, but it's a solid pinot that has quite good QPR: it's hard to find a good cheap pinot (B+).

Central Otago Pinot Noir (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street) : Red berry, especially strawberry, quite perfumed, cream vanilla. In the mouth the wine is juicy, strawberry fruit, quite candied. Medium length. Okay

Nose - lifted red cherries, red currants, underlying spice, herb, earth. Palate - smooth, depth, red and dark fruit. Decent wine this. Not complex but drinkable.

Discover New Zealand in a Glass (Royal Ontario Museum, Toronto, Ontario, Canada) : This was dreadful. Pours inky, purple and blue. Purple/blue candy and Kool Aid nose. Do not like.
